Philippe Desfossés is former CEO of one of the largest French pension funds, ERAFP (Établissement de retraite additionnelle de la fonction publique) with an investment volume of 20 billion EURO.

Previously he was an advisor for the French government and held managerial roles at AXA Group and Lilly France. Since 2008 he is president of S2iem (Societe dinvestissement en infrastructures Européennes de Marches).

As co-founder of Climate Endowment Group and since April 2021 its CEO, and having 25 years of experience in Asset Management, he is one of the most important European trailblazers for impact investing.

Grounded in experience in investment banking and development financing as well as social enterprises in the Congo, the conviction arose that financial value can only be sustainable if it is interlinked with moral value. Apart from financial analysis, social and ecological aspects of an investment are key factors in CHI’s investment decisions. Patrick Horend. One of our IMPACT INVESTORS. Co-founder of the Climate Endowment Group and Compartment Partner of NIXDORF Kapital AG.  

Patrick Horend has worked for nine years for the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC, now part of Mubadala Group), one of the sovereign wealth funds of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The last five years he was Principal of the Global Special Situations Team for direct and funds investments ranging from EUR 15m to EUR 500m focusing on global financial institutions, and previously he was part of ADIC’s risk management team, responsible for investment due diligence across all asset classes.

As co-founder and Head of Investment Structuring at Climate Endowment Group, he contributes with 15 years of international experience in global asset management, loan finance, and risk management. His mission is to apply the same high standards for each investment according to impact investing criteria, because we will only see the required significant increase in climate-friendly investments in the long-term if a competitive return can be ensured.
